British Garden Centres has announced the acquisition of Moorland Nurseries and Garden Centre in the North Yorkshire market town of Knaresborough – a much-loved, traditional garden centre with a proud heritage
Established in 1947, the site has remained family-run for generations, building a strong reputation within the local community.
Following the acquisition, the centre will be renamed Knaresborough Garden Centre, joining the British Garden Centres family as its 79th site nationwide.
The existing team will remain in place, ensuring continuity for customers, with new job opportunities expected. Popular on-site features, including the Lime Tree Café concession, will continue to operate as normal.
The centre offers everything customers need to make the most of their gardens and outdoor spaces – from quality plants and gardening essentials to outdoor living, homeware and seasonal inspiration – and will continue to build on its strong horticultural foundations.
Amy Stubbs, managing director of British Garden Centres, said: “We’re thrilled to welcome Knaresborough Garden Centre to the family. This centre is a perfect fit for us, as it prides itself on great quality plants. We’re excited to build on this for the centre and local community.”
This acquisition marks another milestone in British Garden Centres’ continued expansion as the UK’s largest family-owned garden centre group.
