Cardzone Ltd has announced the acquisition of House of Cards, a greeting card and gift retailer with seven shops across the South East of England. The sale was completed on February 23
Founded 36 years ago, House of Cards has built a strong reputation for quality cards, thoughtful gifting and excellent customer service. The brand’s heritage, creativity and loyal customer base make it a natural fit for Cardzone.
As part of the acquisition, all House of Cards employees will transfer to Cardzone Ltd, with no job losses, ensuring continuity for both staff and customers.
Cardzone plans to invest in and expand the House of Cards brand, supporting its continued growth while retaining the character and values that have underpinned its success for more than three decades.
House of Cards co-owner Miles Robinson will continue to work closely with Cardzone and the House of Cards team. He will play a key role in supporting the transition of the business and sharing his extensive greeting card knowledge to help shape the brand’s future development and grow sales.
Miles Robinson and Nigel Williamson will retain ownership and management of the House of Cards online business, which will continue to operate independently from the retail store portfolio.
This acquisition reflects Cardzone’s commitment to strengthening its retail portfolio and investing in established, trusted brands with strong growth potential.
Commenting on the acquisition, Cardzone founder Paul Taylor said: “Miles and Nigel have built up a fantastic small multiple business and have a brilliant reputation throughout the industry. I wish to thank both of them for their support throughout this acquisition, wishing Nigel all the best for his future; and look forward to working with Miles in the years ahead.”
