The Letter Arty owner Matt Simpson is calling on the greetings industry to support his Choose Cards Christmas Jumpers campaign
Readers of Greetings Today may remember Matt, whose greeting card shop is based in Manchester, writing about the project in our Diary of a Card Shop column in our July/August issue.
He said: ”Following the accidental success of my Choose Cards T-shirts, I’m now hoping to produce a Choose Cards Christmas Jumper to spread some festive joy and encourage the sending of Christmas Cards, alongside the annual Cardmitment campaign of course! I’ve found somewhere that manufactures the jumpers using 100% recycled yarn here in Manchester, just 10 minutes from my shop. I’m currently taking pre-orders for the jumpers via an all-or-nothing crowdfunder to ensure I can cover the cost of the initial production run. I never anticipated that I’d be designing and producing clothing, but I’m more than happy to be the unofficial merch store for the card industry, which you can find at choosecards.co.uk.’’

Matt needs a final push on the crowdfunder to make it happen, and is hoping that the greeting card industry will get behind the campaign, and also share it with friends and family.
Matt added: ”It’s a difficult time for independent retailers, with card retailers facing particularly unique challenges like the ever increasing cost of postage, making it harder for customers to send the cards that they buy. I’m part of a group of independent card retailers that every year encourages people to buy and post their Christmas cards early, allowing them to take advantage of more affordable second class postage. The Choose Cards Christmas jumpers will be a great way to support this campaign.’’
