The GCA is asking for greetings industry input ahead of its next meeting with Royal Mail in June
Royal Mail has set out its Quality of Service Improvement Plan, which has been agreed with the unions, and sees the rollout of every-other-working-day 2nd class delivery. This should be completed by April 2027.
The GCA has expressed its concern that the rollout of the improvement plan should be completed, and service levels restored, before Ofcom consult on the 2nd class price cap (due to expire in 2027).
The GCA and Royal Mail are also holding a joint Royal Mail–GCA Marketing roundtable, which will look at ways to combine marketing efforts to encourage card sending, including encouraging consumers to plan ahead and post cards early, particularly in the run-up to Christmas 2026.
Four GCA Council members – Seth Woodmansterne, Wendy Jones-Blackett, Pip Heywood and Ashton Duckitt – will join GCA CEO Amanda Fergusson at this meeting at Royal Mail’s Head Office in June.
In preparation, they have devised a list of potential initiatives (some suggested by Royal Mail and some by the GCA), which are now being shared with the industry to gather feedback, os that clear industry support can be shown for the best initiatives.
The survey should only take a few minutes – and should be completed by June 8.
